AMBER COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, INC. AND JOHN WILEY & SONS, INC. CO-PUBLISH A NEW CHILDREN’S HAIR CARE BOOK

AMBER COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, INC. AND JOHN WILEY & SONS, INC. CO-PUBLISH A NEW CHILDREN’S HAIR CARE BOOK:

WAVY, CURLY, KINKY - THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILD'S HAIR CARE GUIDE

November 2005 - New York City - Amber Communications Group, Inc.'s imprint Amber Books and John Wiley & Sons, Inc. continue their mission to bring a positive and rewarding reading experience to African Americans through the publication of self-help books.

In accordance with their expansion plans, ACGI and JWS Editorial Associate Camille Acker announced the publication of a new title: Wavy, Curly, Kinky - The African American Child's Hair Care Guide (ISBN# 0-471-69534-3) by Deborah R. Lily. This announcement comes just one year after Amber Communications Group, Inc. publisher inked a new multi-book co-publishing/imprint deal with John Wiley & Sons, Inc. further expanding the Amber/Wiley line of personal finance and beauty books.

With years of professional hairstyling experience, author Deborah Lily has become one of the nation's premier hair care authorities on caring for and styling all types and textures of children's hair. She is one of dozens of diverse authors that are currently signed to Amber Communications Group, Inc. with extensive experience in self-help and career-guide topics.

The release of the children’s hair book comes on the heels of ACGI’s prior commitment to complete a four-book co-publishing deal constructed by the legendary former Editor-In-Chief of the African American Interest Book Division, Carole Hall, with JWS. The titles published under that Agreement are:

The African-American Woman's Guide to Successful Make-up and Skin Care (Revised Edition) (ISBN# 0-471-40278-8) and Born Beautiful: The African-American Teenager's Complete Handbook and Beauty Guide (ISBN# 0-471-15897-8) by Alfred Fornay; The New Revised, Expanded Edition Of Pay Yourself First - The African American Guide to Financial Success and Security (ISBN# 0-471-15897-6) and 101 Real Money Questions - The African-American Financial Question and Answer Book (ISBN# 0-471-20674-1) by Jesse B. Brown.

Kitt Allan, Vice President and Publisher, General Interest Books for John Wiley & Sons, Inc. stated, "The overwhelming success of the Amber/Wiley book line prompted JWS to expand the Amber/Wiley collection with the addition of several new beauty books." ACGI and JWS are currently in the selection process for an additional personal care book for African American women.

According to Amber Books' Publisher Tony Rose, "We are very pleased about our long-term relationship with Wiley." In their 200 year history, Wiley has established itself as the leading publisher in science and technology; broadened their publishing programs to include works on art, religion, architecture and agriculture; increased its focus on postsecondary educational publishing and founded its Professional/Trade publishing division for Business, Law, and General Books. Wiley has publishing, marketing, and distribution centers in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.

"Throughout their existence, Wiley has published self-help and career guide titles that the American public can be proud of. ACGI plans to continue that legacy of positive self help books, by, for, and about African Americans," Rose stated. "JWS has, from the beginning, supported ACGI's goal to build a strong self-help book catalog for our community and we look forward to continued success with the Amber/Wiley titles, and working closely with our editorial associate, Camille Acker."
