LITERARY DIVAS: THE TOP 100+ MOST ADMIRED AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN IN LITERATURE by HEATHER COVINGTON (AMBER BOOKS) HAS BEEN NAMED AS ONE OF TWENTY-TWO FINALISTS FOR THE 38TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS IN LITERATURE FOR: OUTSTANDING LITERARY WORK - BIOGRAPHY / AUTO-BIOGRAPHY.

AN NAACP LITERATURE SUB-COMMITEE VOTE WILL DETERMINE THE FIVE NOMINEES IN THIS CATEGORY. THE FIVE NOMINEES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A PRESS CONFERENCE ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2006 IN LOS ANGELES. THE LIST OF NOMINEES WILL THEN BE PLACED ON A MASTER BALLOT WHICH WILL THEN BE DISTRIBUTED NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY TO NAACP MEMBERS VIA THE FEBRUARY ISSUE OF THE CRISIS MAGAZINE. THE PROJECTS IN EACH CATEGORY THAT RECEIVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF VOTES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE 38TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS , FRIDAY MARCH 2, 2006 IN LOS ANGELES.
